The word 1 polio' has been striking the headlines during the recent weeks in Indian newspapers. A certain amount of scare has therefore been produced in the mind of the public. It is no doubt true that a fairly large number of cases of polio have been reported in Bombay city. A few isolated cases have also been reported from other parts of India like Delhi and Calcutta. It has not yet been decided whether the cases that have been reported in Bombay constitute an epidemic in any form or they are only an evidence of
